PEDI 2014  SECRETARY' S REPORT

"Guntur Radiology and Imaging Association" was entrusted to conduct a CME in Guntur under auspices of "Indian Radiology and Imaging Association of Andhra Pradesh Chapter. 

Dr Jahnavi G who is Radiologist from Guntur and currently Joint Secretary of IRIA AP Chapter was entrusted to conduct the meeting. 

"Guntur Radiology and Imaging Association" held its meeting in Guntur with an express purpose of conducting the meeting and the following members were elected as organizing committee members:

The theme was decided as Pediatric Imaging. This is the first time such theme was selected in Guntur / Vijayawada.

Date for the conference was fixed as 28th September 2014. Venue was fixed as GMCANA auditorium. 

Press Conference was held on 26 sep 2014

10. Evaluation of Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy DR SURESH GIRGANI

Registration invitations were sent by SMS and Emails. Letters and posters for display in the departments were sent to all the Heads of the departments of Radiology and Pediatrics in entire Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. 

The venue was shifted to Indian Medical Association hall due to audio visual failure at the earlier finalized venue.

There were 141 registrations in total. The program started on 28th September dot on time. The guests included faculty Dr Power Ravuri ( Secretary, IRIA) and legendary Dr Kakarla Subba Rao.The meeting was started by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and prayer song by Ms.Harshita, Medical Student from NRI Medical College.
Dr Ramasubba Rayudu, (Retd Prof and HOD of Osmania Medical College) and Dr GV Krishna Rao, famous surgeon of Guntur and  Dr Kakarla Subba Rao  were facilitated  to the applause of audience. 

There was a quiz at th end of session. There were 3 winners who were given away cash prizes of Rs5000, Rs3000 and Rs2000 . The third prize was shared by two postgraduates.

• Second Prize: Dr Ram Prasad D (Katuri Medical College)
• Third Prize (shared): Dr Vineela Rekha(MNR Medical College) Dr D Md Haneef (Katuri Medical College)

An interesting films display was also arranged to the liking of all the delegates. Local media and press covered the event to full extent. 

Message given by the chief guests was prominently published in the next day news papers.
